Traditional Chinese New Year Dish

Something that we (MUST) eat every Chinese New Year!

It's a lot of hard work to prepare this actually, but Mum always do it with love :o)
I show my appreciation by eating a good 2-3 bowls! Not including the da bao packs of course!!! Can eat this all the time, just that cannot find any as nice as my mum's cooking!!!

There were a number of other CNY dinners that I had, but I did not snap pictures for most of them, except one. This was with the last bunch of Singaporeans I worked with in Shanghai. It was a feast at Ah Yat Seafood... poor little piggy... *gobbles*

Happy CNY!

Reunion Dinner at Civil Service Club.. Super large servings!! Had to dabao half of everything! Look at our stuffed faces and round stomachs...

Gathering at Grandma's place... Mama Loh machiam advertising chee ku chips and bak kwa.. hahaha!.. Sis' stomach getting bigger n bigger!.. We will have a new family member soon!

Chris looks the same every year.. like 16 yr-old boy.. so stressful for me.. to maintain and stay young looking.. soon I'll look like an elder sister to him... time in invest in bird's nest, masks, collagen drinks, botox and....

Photo below taken 3 yrs ago!.. Same right??!!??.... maybe slimmed down a bit? :)) Benjamin Button Tan....

New Household Helper

Highly recommended by Andrea. No more dirty hands and spins the mop quite dry, I must say.. suitable for our wood laminate flooring :) No more squeezing the sponge mop!

My new helper! :D (in addition to my Rainbow vacuum cleaner..)

Victoria Peak

Some things always happen to the places we go, or the places we eat. Hahaha, not sure why though. But Egypt, Japan, New Zealand, etc etc... Perhaps we have an impact to the world. This translates to the food area too. New stalls/places where we try the food, they close down not long after! Even though we think some of them are quite good too!!! How come like that???

We had dim sum at Victoria Peak in Suntec not too far back. Pretty good actually and not many people. Buttercup decided to organize her meetup with the January birthday babies there on Sunday. The phonecall to make reservations was responded with a "they do not operate here anymore" kind of effect. Just days after only!!! Strange that the restaurant people do not inform us though. Should they not try to keep us as regular customers? (Or perhaps they heard about our fierce reputation?)

A nice photo of the whole group there with smiley baby!

This was outside the restaurant. Nice bright colours. Wonder if anyone else knows it is there. Anyway, perhaps this is not the last time that we will be there. Orchard Central does seem to have quite a number of places to eat. Yummy!

What Do You Catch At A Fishing Pond?

To date, we "caught" two sets of PS3. Of course sold one (and keep the better one lah)!

With the support of our fishing buddies and a loan of some points, we logged our next "catch"! It will be ready for collection on 18th January 2012 :o)

Now I need to look for a good screen protector and a nice cover...

Looking forward to the days of bigger mushrooms, bigger slimes, bigger words and bigger smurfs?

New Beginning to the New Year

It's the new year and something new MUST happen! Otherwise, what is the point of keeping to the calendars, other than tracking when is the next time you can go on a holiday? So what is the something new for us?

It is the creation of a joint blog.

After all these years and procrastinating efforts by both of us to keep up with our individual blogs, we suddenly thought of just having one. So both of us can blog whenever we want to and be updated together. After all, we spend all our time together! :o)

I guess, it is goodbye to siaocharbor and prawnkid blogspots and a big welcome to The Buttercup Prawnies!

Stay tuned!
